Rock n Roll ! – Nursing Home Residents Recreate Album Covers
Sydmar Lodge Care Home provides bespoke care and support for people over the age of 65 in Mill Hill, United Kingdom. Just like the rest of us, the past 4 months in lockdown proved to be quite dull and boring for its residents.
With all entertainers having all their bookings cancelled I tried to do my bit for entertainers and residents at Sydmar Lodge Care Home in lockdown. Please RT & share with all care homes and entertainers. pic.twitter.com/SZEyrWgij3

So, when activities coordinator Robert Speker, decided to recreate album covers by famous artists including Madonna, Adele, and David Bowie with residents at Sydmar Lodge posing as models, he had no idea his photographs would go viral in hours and create a media frenzy!
Robert, 41, was at work when TV and radio stations started calling to ask him more about the photoshoot.
Having worked at the nursing home for five years, he mentioned the residents had “absolutely loved” the idea and were excited to participate even though they were not sure of the final outcome.

Eternal classics by The Clash, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen have also been recreated for viewing pleasure, take a look below:
Given the lockdown period due to the coronavirus pandemic last March, Robert said staff had to think of new activities to boost the residents’ morale. Having had this idea about a month ago, he organised a photoshoot by providing matching looks for residents with a vague similarity to the artist and the rest was HIStory…
When asked what the residents of Sydmar Lodge thought of his creations which have since gone viral, Robert quipped they “were really having a good laugh over it”.
“The main aim was to show that care homes need not be a sad environment, even during this pandemic,” he said.
Kudos to all at Sydmar Lodge!
Thank you for showing us how #awesome you all are!
