A 21-year old strong survivor of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), Marky Jaquez, received a heart-warming video from one of his favorite actors, Jason Momoa.
Marky suffers from a debilitating skin condition known, EB, also commonly known as “butterfly skin”, a type of inherited skin condition where the skin is so fragile that any frictions or trauma can cause painful blisters.
Marky has been persistently fighting the disease since the day he was born. His elder brother, Carlos with the same diagnosis sadly did not fight through and passed away at the young age of 14.
Since 2014, Melissa Jaquez, has been recording the heroic journey of her son, Marky, fighting through his battle with the condition, on her Instagram and has garnered over 403,000 followers to this day. The community have been extremely supportive and have been showering love, and giving support to Marky and his family through comments under each post.
Despite the unbearable pain and hellish battles Marky goes through every day, he never failed to put a smile on people’s faces with his sweet and optimistic personality.
Marky is an ardent fan of Jason Momoa. Thanks to one of the family’s acquaintance, Jason Momoa was able to notice Marky as his biggest fan.
Jason in his video said, “Marky, so Uncle Aquaman just wanted to reach out and tell you that I love you and I hope you’re getting better. I’m working on Aquaman 2 right now, and I want you to see it.”
People all around the world are inspired by the strong spirit of this young warrior and also touched by the mother’s patience and love towards her child.
