From emanating methane gas to other toxic substances, studies have proven that improper waste disposal is a threat to the environment. Sadly, Malaysians are huge contributors to this problem, producing over 30,000 tons of waste every day!

However, more and more Malaysians are becoming aware of the importance of going green and adopting a Zero Waste lifestyle.

Here are 4 local stores that are saving the environment by encouraging fellow Malaysians to embrace sustainable living.

Located within the residential area of Section 19, Petaling Jaya, NUDE offers customers a wide range of products that are endlessly reusable. Here customers can look forward to purchasing eco-friendly items from edible goods to home and personal care products.

According to The Star, co-founder of NUDE, Cheryl Low was inspired to set up NUDE after watching a tragic clip of divers removing straws from a sea turtle – “as a scuba diver, seeing those images impacted me so much. I went on a frenzy of fact-finding and reading up on how such a thing could happen.”

“I found out that it’s not just plastic straws that are killing off marine life. There are larger things at play here and we need to stop that as much as possible,” she added.

Together with her husband, Cheryl founded NUDE in 2018 to create a more eco-friendly society.
