Many of us are adequately terrified just by looking at monitor lizards, which is quite common in Malaysia and Thailand.
But imagine being stuck with a huge one in your neighbourhood 7-eleven store, and watch in horror as it makes its way up one of the shelves in the store.
This is exactly what customers at a 7-eleven outlet in Thailand encountered recently.
Patrons were shocked and heard screaming as this huge monitor lizard climbed one of the shelves and decided to take a break on top.
A video of the incident was shared by journalist, Andrew MacGregor Marshall who happened to be in the outlet at the time.
In the video, the huge reptile is also seen pushing many items off the shelves as it made its way up.
Several voices of people and soft screams can be heard from others who were in the outlet at the time.
The video had since gone viral and garnered all kinds of reactions from netizens.
It was learnt that the outlet staff called the authorities in to help capture the reptile which was later released to its rightful habitat.
