We’ve all had good and bad days before.
There are days when things just don’t seem to go as planned. However, netizen, Ninie’s personal encounter definitely warmed our hearts. Read on to find out why!
Ninie, a Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) law student, had ran some errands at a local supermarket when she realised she had just lost RM50. Like many other young students her age, she was facing a tight financial situation having to save money for her legal education. Panic began to set in as she kept thinking about where she had placed the money and wondered how it could have gone missing. Despite feeling down, Ninie booked a ride via MyCar to send her home, but the fare was a little more than she could afford having lost money earlier.
That’s when Uncle Yew, a MyCar driver, saved the day!
As soon as Ninie boarded the taxi, Uncle Yew sensed something was amiss. This prompted him to ask Ninie if everything was okay.
Unable to hold back her tears, Ninie cried and narrated the details of how she ended up running short of money.
“Don’t worry. You don’t have to pay the fare. Don’t cry anymore. You can’t change what has already happened. You don’t have to pay, it’s on me,” said Uncle Yew as he consoled her.
In fact, Uncle Yew went the extra mile to stop over at a restaurant and bought Ninie some food before sending her home.
(We are not crying. You are crying!!) 😭 😭

However, Ninie is not the first person to have experienced Uncle Yew’s generosity. In fact, Uncle Yew has gained quite a reputation for being warm and kind to his passengers.
“Seriously, this uncle is so kind and friendly. I’ve ridden with him before. He also advised me to study hard and everything. I was rushing that day but this uncle’s friendly demeanour actually calmed me down,” said a previous customer on Twitter.
Ninie’s story struck a chord with many netizens including MyCar! Upon learning about her story, the company decided to reward both parties.
“Kindness will eventually be repaid.” wrote MyCar on their Facebook page. “As a token of appreciation, MyCar is rewarding Mr. Yew Ah Tat with RM500 cash money and zero deduction in driving commission for 3 months.” MyCar has also offered some financial assistance to Ninie.
This heartwarming story proves that a random act of kindness goes a long way. At the end of the day, everyone you meet is fighting a battle you nothing about, so be kind. Always!
