Four policemen have won praises from the public after they stopped to help a senior citizen who was seen pushing his motorcycle along the side of a road in Petaling Jaya recently.
According to Constable Fahrid Mojuning, 28, he and three others felt sorry for the old man and stopped to assist him.
The other three policemen were Lans Corporals Saiful Nizam Mohamad and Muhammad Hazwan Zainal, and Corporal Hafizzudin Roslim.
Fahrid said about 5pm, their motorcycle patrol unit (URB) from the Sea Park police station was on their rounds along Jalan Harapan when they spotted the man.
“While on patrol, we saw the old man pushing his motorcycle and stopped to ask him what was wrong.
“The uncle told us he had run out of petrol and was pushing his motorcycle to the nearest station,” he said.
One of the policemen, who happened to have a rubber hose in his motorcycle then suggested they give the man some petrol from their motorcycles.
“We then transferred some petrol from one of our motorcycles into an empty bottle, then into the man’s motorcycle.
“We waited to ensure he was able to start his machine before riding off,” he said.
Their act of kindness has won praises from many, including Petaling Jaya police chief, ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid who said their actions should be praised and followed by others.
