Following the Red Flag Campaign started by the Malaysia Animal Association to help pet owners, Golden Potato has set up an animal food bank in Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur.
The operator of several food trucks selling deep-fried sweet potato balls recently shared this in their Facebook.
Similar to the food banks across the country, pet owners are free to pick up what they need to feed their furry friends.
According to Golden Potato, they wanted to start a food bank as part of the white flag campaign, but realised that pets need help too.
The MAA had earlier said that many pet owners were forced to abandon their furry companions as they could not longer afford to care for their cats and dogs.
After their Facebook post went viral, they have since been receiving strong support from across the country.
After word spread about their food bank, many dropped by to pick up animal food, with many reaching out for help with animal food supplies also.
