It is no strange fact that people have been struggling since the imposition of the various Movement Control Orders (MCO) since last year.
There are many that have been out of employment and received a hard blow. However, the glimpse of hope that is tying everyone together during these dark times is the kindness within the communities.
Recently, a popular asam laksa stall in Petaling Jaya, O&S Curry Laksa, Asam Laksa, took it to their Facebook page to share how one of their customers in Sungai Buloh could not afford the delivery costs. They shared that they began online delivery to help keep businesses afloat considering the travel restrictions.
*Not Selling, but Sharing*
I have been answering to calls (& missed some of the calls ? My bad ??) since mom-and-pop…

The sellers have been doing their best to accommodate every single order that comes their way. However, due to the influx of orders, there are some that become lost in the delivery system. Last week, they received a call from an elderly man who wanted to place an order.
“Last week, I picked up this call and from the voice, I could tell he is a very old grandpa and he was checking up on delivery and delivery charges. He wanted to order two packets, but the delivery charges were way too expensive than the noodles as he stays at Sungai Buloh,” they shared in the post.
“Mentioned to him that it’s not worth it and we ended the call but I could feel his disappointment.”
Despite the explanation, the disappointment was evident in the man’s voice, leaving the sellers with an uneasy feeling. Therefore, they decided to take his order and arrange for delivery, even with the great number of orders.
They send the customer his order for free and did not charge anything for the delivery. The next day, the elderly man contacted them to express his gratitude to the sellers.
It was apparent that the man is 81 years old and takes care of his wife who is suffering from dementia.
He stated that he missed the familiar aroma of the stall’s food as he was a regular customer.
The story brought joy to many readers and the sellers received heaps of praises for helping the man in spite how the pandemic has affected the stall.
