A foreigner working in Malaysia recently went viral after a video of him making up to RM5,00 a month found its way to TikTok.
In the 74-second video, Md Shamim Ali, a Bangladeshi said he has been working here for five years and made RM5,400 in his last drawn salary.
“I usually send RM4,500 a month back home,” he said, adding that he was still single.
He is also seen pulling out his salary slip as proof of his earnings.
Md Shamim works as a tractor driver at Ladang Mawar in Kemaman, Terengganu. He earned RM3,497 based on the hours worked and with an additional RM1,090 for working on off days.
He also earned RM814 for miscellaneous wages.
After a deduction of RM484 for income tax and salary advance, he was left with RM4,917.55
However, Md Shamim could be paid by the hour, which means he worked long and hard to earn his salary.
Though his passport expires on March 2022, it is highly likely he will be getting it renewed and continue working here.
Netizens praised him for sending such a large portion of his salary back home, while others were actually interested in also working at the estate.
