Those who grew up with the famous police series “Gerak Khas”, should be familiar with the actor, Zulkifli Ismail. However, many people might not know that Zulkifli has a daughter, who is now a lecturer in Korea.
In addition to having her stunning looks, Dr Zulfati Izazi Zulkifli has now become the inspiration of young women all around the nation after obtaining a doctorate (PhD) in the field of linguistics at the age of 29.
It is understood that Dr Zulfati Izazi or fondly called Dr Izazi ,is currently working as a lecturer at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Sharing about her career in Korea, Dr Izazi explained that she did not outright choose to work in Korea, but the opportunity came at the right time.
“A few days after I passed the viva (oral examination related to research or thesis) PhD, I was contacted by a former supervisor from a local university, where I used to work. Long story short, after that, I was connected with several other lecturers for the next process. I then received a letter offering a foreign lecturer position here (Korea) and I immediately accepted the offer. “
“Considering that at that time I was about to finish my studies and have to enter the career world, I think the arrangement is beautiful. Alhamdulillah, thank you very much,” she shared.
Dr Izazi has expressed her passion for linguistics at a young age.
“I was interested in several other fields, but then I realized my interest in languages. Indeed, the Malay language has its own uniqueness and beauty.”
Dr Izazi celebrated her marriage to Dr Md Yushalify Misro, a mathematics lecturer at USM, at the beginning of this year. The couple then took a big decision by engaging in a long distance relationship for some time but ultimately, her hard word and dedication paid off. Her husband iis currently serving as a visiting researcher at Shizuoka University, Japan.
