The video starts off showing two wasps on the bottle of orange soda. The wasps then start moving between the seal and bottle cap.
In the 11-second video, the wasps then begin moving in a circular motion and after a few moments, they manage to unscrew the bottle cap, which falls to the ground.
Netizens were taken aback and amazed by the video.
One social media user, David Montero wrote, “Years from now, when bees are running the world, this will be one of those anthropologic videos shown to young bees in school about a key moment in the evolution of their species – like when humans first used crude tools.”
“Hey! Those are the two bees who stole my wallet!” wrote another.
One user said: ‘That video is amazing but also terrifying. How the hell have they worked that out?’
Another added: ‘We can just hire them and pay them in Fanta.’
The ‘sweet tooth’ of bees is no secret, but according Daily Mail, scientists at Queen Mary University of London found that drinking a small droplet of sugar water allowed the insects to enter an emotional state similar to human optimism.
Scientists said that this indicated that the sweet water raised the mood of the bees.
