Being born without arms and feet did not stop Mohamad Jafri Daud, 31, from Bachok operating a food business to earn a living.
Never once using his disability as an excuse, he and his wife, Nur Aika Mansor, 27, recently opened a keropok lekor (fish crackers) and asam laksa stall.
Mohamad Jefri holds a Malaysian Skills Certificate in sewing from the Bangi Industrial and Rehabilitation Centre and has been selling asam laksa online before this.
“Many of my customers are excited to see me working. They praise and encourage me to be more successful,” he said at his stall in Kampung Tok Jawa.

Mohamad Jafri said most customers came to his stall to taste the asam laksa made by his wife which was sold at RM8 each.
Following a video featuring him that went viral on social media, he said he has received more customers.
“Apart from asam laksa and keropok lekor, we also sell drinks, and we are planning to add pisang goreng (banana fritters) to our menu soon.
InsyaAllah, I want to expand this business and prove that a disabled person like me can also succeed like normal people.
“I believe success will come if we put in the hard work,” he said, adding that he receives RM450 in financial assistance from the Social Welfare Department monthly.
