Yesterday, marked the 58th birthday of our Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
During the outbreak of Covid-19 last year, Dr Noor proved to be a national hero, as he handled policies regarding the handling of the pandemic.
The early stages of the Movement Control Order saw immense synergy from the citizens following the advice of Dr Noor and Malaysia even managed to achieve zero reported cases for a short period of time.
According to The Malaysian Reserve, Dr Noor stated that for his birthday, he wished Malaysian citizens will continue to stay united to fight the pandemic.
“Alhamdulilah and thank you (for all the wishes). Coming together will make us stronger to fight against COVID-19,” said Dr Noor.
The last time he appeared at a press conference to present COVID-19 updates was on March 4. Thereafter, he has communicated the daily updates through press statements, tweets, and Facebook posts.
Malaysians flocked the Ministry of Health’s Facebook page to wish Dr Noor Hisham happy birthday.
“Thanks MOH for the update. Happy Birthday to our beloved DG of Health,” a netizen commented during a Facebook live update.
“Happy Birthday to Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham. Lots of best wishes, sir. Stay strong and healthy always,” added another Facebook user.
Others dedicated handmade portraits, one even made out of sunflower seeds!
