Living in a multi-racial country like ours requires us not only to respect each other’s religious beliefs, but also to be understanding and sensitive to them.
Recently a woman won praises on social media after she asked a Foodpanda Walker to take time and break his fast first before making her delivery.
According to Dinnie Norman Othman, from Cheras, he has been a Foodpanda Walker for five months and received this particular order at 7.12pm.
He said he was all set to make the delivery somewhere along Jalan Imbi in Kuala Lumpur.
“However, as I was on the way, she messaged me and told me to break my fast first before delivering her fried chicken,” he said.
However, Dinnie said he was afraid the food may become cold by the time he made the delivery and just had a drink and had his meal later.
He said he was very touched when the customer told him to eat first as it showed that she cared for him and the work he was doing, especially during the Ramadan month.
“This is not the first time that a customer told me to have my food first before delivering food to them as many others have sent me similar messages.
“As a Foodpanda Walker, there are times where we need to brace the hot weather and the rain so kind comments from customers really do make us feel appreciated,” he said.
