What was the last movie you watched in a cozy cinema with your favourite popcorn and soft drink?
Since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, all cinemas have been closed, while avid movie goers were forced to stay home and either watch cable tv or online movies.
Well, for those who have been fully vaccinated, cinemas will be reopening again soon, with strict standard operating procedures in place.
Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) Group chief executive officer, Koh Mei Lee said all patrons and staff must strictly adhere to the strict SOPs which will soon be announced.
She said though they have not been operating for a long period, GSC has ensured all their facilities are in good order and their staff are fully vaccinated.
“We are ready to reopen as soon as possible. Our staff are 97 per cent fully vaccinated and we will have strict SOPs in place.
“Only those fully vaccinated and with their MySejahtera certificates will be allowed entry,” she said.
She said to date, there has never been a cinema cluster and the reopening would be greatly beneficial to the more than 20,000 staff in the industry.
“We have been cooped up for more than a year. We appeal to all cinema goers to follow the SOPs strictly. I must stress that our industry is among those with very strict SOPs to ensure everyone’s safety,” she said.
So, for those who have missed out their favourite Marvel or DC movies, it is to pull out your sweaters and wait for the cinema doors to reopen.
