Businesswoman, Siti Suriani or fondly known as Siti Jamumall and her husband found themselves in a shocking situation recently when they discovered their newly born baby had been mistakenly switched with another at the hospital.
Sharing her predicament on Facebook, she said she delivered at a private hospital in Shah Alam and was allowed to return home with her baby the next day.
However, upon reaching home, her husband wanted to cut off the delivery tag on the baby’s foot when they discovered the baby was not theirs, but that of another woman who delivered the same day.
“I was trembling when I realised a different tag and had no idea how the mix up occurred.
“The tag on the baby’s foot had another mother’s name and delivery time on it,” she said.
Please stopp yg cakap bukan bukan tentang siti n ibu aisar , time mcm ni kami perlukan masa untuk rest . Terharu sangat pagi ni YB DATO SRI RINA HARUN dtg beri kata semangat dan moral support . ❤️
They immediately contacted the hospital over the mix up.
“If my husband had not realised the name on the tag, we would have forever thought the baby was ours, though we would be left wondering why the features were so different,” she said.
The baby boy is Siti Suriani’s second child after she got married in April 2019 at the age of 19.
Siti Suriani, her husband and father-in-law then took the baby back to the hospital.
She stayed in the car while her husband and father-in-law went into the hospital to sort out matters.
Her husband then called and informed her that their baby was still in the hospital and soon, mother and her “real” baby were reunited.
