The Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) which kicked off yesterday in the Klang Valley received good response from parents and their children.
According to reports, eligible children aged five to 11 and their parents come as early as 8am to the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), one of the integrated Covid-19 vaccination centres, despite the vaccination drive only starting at noon.
Armed forces pensioner Zulkifflee Abdul Latif, 49, said he immediately registered his two sons, Muhammad Latiff Iskandar, 10, and Muhammad Iskandar Zulqarnain, 7, after the announcement for parents to register their children via the MySejahtera application.

“When we received the notification for the slot on Wednesday, we immediately accepted the appointment.
“I believe that vaccination is the best way to protect my children from contracting the virus,” he said when met by the New Straits Times yesterday.
Zulkifflee and his wife, along with their six children, with the eldest who is 25-years-old, had completed their two doses as well as booster shots.

Before the appointment, Zulkifflee said he informed his two children on the need for them to get vaccinated.
For 10-year-old Foo Fang Le, he looked forward to meeting his friends after all of them were vaccinated.
“I cannot wait to play with all my friends after we get vaccinated,” he said.
His father, Foo Chuan Liang said the vaccination process for his son went smoothly.
He said the flow of people at the WTCKL PPV was systematic and will not confuse the parents and their children.
“It was efficient with many volunteers ready to assist the parents and their children.”
At noon, the children were greeted by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin who came to see the vaccination process at the PPV.
Khairy said he was satisfied with the smooth process at WTCKL and thanked all those involved.
“At WTCKL PPV, the children have their lanes, which keep them apart from the adults who come for their booster shots, along with various photo booths,” he said.
Khairy added at present, the daily capacity for PICKids at WTCKL PPV is 200 doses.
