The Ministry of Federal Territories (KWP) announced an additional Public Holiday on Friday in conjunction with the success of the Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC football team in winning the 100th edition of the TM Malaysia Cup 2021 yesterday.
Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim stated that the victory of KL City FC at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium is the best achievement of the team after 32 years of anticipation.
“Following the victory, it is informed that the government has agreed that this Friday (3 December 2021) be declared as an Additional Public Holiday for the three provinces, namely the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.
“The declaration of this Additional Public Holiday was made in accordance with subsection 9(2) of the Public Holiday Act 1951 (Act 369) for the Federal Territory,” he told reporters at the Putrajaya Steps, Precinct 1.
He added that in order to appreciate the services of the players, his party will be considering the form of remuneration that will be given later.
