Just recently, the Malaysian government has imposed the Movement Control Order (MCO) from May 12 to June 7 due to rising Covid-19 cases, throughout the entire nation.
This means that those who celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri will have to do so in their own homes while Hari Raya celebrations are completely prohibited, including visiting friends and relatives, and graveyard visits
This would mean those away from their families will not be able to return to their hometowns to be with their loved ones.
While it is our jobs as citizens to do our part to curb the spread of Covid-19, it still is emotionally challenging to be away from family for a long period of time.
A video has recently gone viral on TikTok after showing a girl receiving a parcel from her mother, who is back in her hometown.
As simple as the gesture may be, the girl cried upon eating the banana chips made by her mother, expressing just how much she misses her family.
The girl, Intan, stated that she longed for her mother’s cooking and that due to being unable to return for Aidilfitri , she had to celebrate alone.

Upon watching the video, many Netizens have flooded the comment section, expressing the same predicament and how much they wish to be reunited with their family.
“We are in the same situation, I haven’t visited my mother near the village for 2 years,” one of the comments says.
Thus far, the video has garnered 50.9k likes, 2177 comments and 1,329 shares.
