There is a growing movement to crown Malaysia’s squash queen Nicol Ann David, 37, as the World Games’ Greatest Athlete of All Time.

David, who retired in 2019, is the only Asian in the running in the poll, which pits her against 23 other athletes from around the globe.

There has been viral messages circulating through social media and Whatsapp, urging fans to vote for the former No.1, who has also won three gold medals and one bronze at the World Games.

Nicknamed the ‘Duracell Bunny’, David was the world number one for a record-breaking 108 consecutive months  and won the World Open title a record 8 times as well as the British Open title in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014.

David however, never had the chance to be an Olympian as Squash failed participate in the Olympics despite lobbying efforts.

“I would trade all six of my world titles for just one Olympic gold medal. Every world title means the world to me, so that’s how important the Olympics is in my heart.” she once told CNN

Currently David has amassed 113,800 votes in the poll and is on the way to be crowned the G.O.A.T
