A Facebook user, Ah Liang recently highlighted his experience visiting a KFC outlet in Ipoh.
According to the post, he left a pub in Ipoh about 1.30am and walked to the KFC outlet opposite his hotel for a take-out.
However, when he got there, the staff told him they were closed and the chicken all cleared from the heated display shelves. The signboard said the outlet closed at 2am.
Ah Liang said he protested a little, when the manager stepped in and packed his order.
“When I wanted to pay, the manager told me it was alright and did not want to take my card.
“He insisted and I was pleasantly surprised and left a RM10 tip in the box,” said Ah Liang.
He said he then returned to his hotel and enjoyed his meal.
He said he then received a phone call and when he picked up, he realised it was the bank.
Ah Liang had left his card at the KFC outlet and the manager called the bank to inform them.
The bank had said they will cancel the card, but the KFC manager asked them to try calling Ah Liang first in case he needed to use the card.
“I told the bank I will head to KFC immediately to get my card and asked the bank to call me again in ten minutes to confirm.
“Sure enough, when I got there, the manager was there to hand over my card. How about that for great service and initiative?
“Zakir, you are a star. Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated at a time when I’ve almost given up on the younger generation.
“If in Ipoh and craving for KFC, do look him up at the Jalan Dato’ Onn Jaafar branch,”.
