Creative and patient is the appropriate expression for this man’s effort when he managed to complete a large-sized portrait using 391 rubik’s cube blocks.
Zabli Ab Hadi, 34, from Rompin, Pahang, said he was inspired to use rubik’s cubes to create his artwork in order to commemorate the passing of the nationwide famous singer, the late Siti Sarah Raisudin, who died recently as a result of Covid-19.
“Accordingly, this portrait can be completed in just four hours, but due to time constraints, it took me two days to complete the portrait of the late Siti Sarah and Shuib,” he said as quoted from Harian Metro.
Zabli, who works as an internet centre manager, said he would come to work an hour early in the morning just to complete the portrait.
According to him, one of the challenges in completing the portrait is to get the appropriate colour tone. Due to the solid tones of the cube, he had to use the Photoshop application to help change the intensity of the colour of the portrait to match the colours of the rubik’s cube.
“Among the hard parts for me are the eyebrows and teeth because of the few colour options.
“In fact, if the colour selection is not appropriate, I have to take down the rubik’s cube and rearrange it one by one,” he added.
Meanwhile, Zabli said he did not expect the video of him producing the portrait of the late Siti Sarah and her husband to go viral on TikTok.
Shortly afterwards, he said, he received various requests from the public to produce portraits using rubik’s cubes.
Many viewers express their admiration to his hard work and dedication in creating the portrait.
