Convocation ceremonies usually make up some of the most unforgettable moments of a student’s life.
This celebratory event to mark an end to the many years of studying, also marks the start of a new beginning. This is signified by the receipt of the graduation scroll.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, almost all convocations were put on hold last year in order to adhere to SOPs. However, this did not stop many graduates from reminiscing their past convocations.
A Malaysian girl took to TikTok to recall her memories when she was receiving a scroll on stage, which ended up stealing the limelight from the whole event.
The girl, known as Wani, shared how she was on the stage for more than a minute while she was receiving her scroll because the Pro-Chancellor randomly invited her for a chat. Through her caption, she shared that she was questioned about the price of CPO (crude palm oil), which caught her completely off guard!
The video had garnered 40.5K likes, 923 comments and 831 shares on TikTok, and is increasing continuously.
However, it is known by many that the Pro-Chancellor has a habit of asking questions. He will pick anyone at random and playfully throw in some questions.
She also shared a video of her friend being questioned on stage as well.
Through sources, he said he is indeed known as a person who likes to ask questions to students. He will pick anyone at random.
Netizens found the incident too humorous and started to share their joyful convocation moments. One even commented, “Imagine if you couldn’t answer his questions and he decides to cancel handing over the scroll!”
To final year students this year, we wish you a wonderful and memorable graduation ceremony.
