Federal Territories Minister Shahidan Kassim boldly read out his phone number in Parliament after he acknowledged the hazardous and appalling conditions of roads in the city during his ministerial winding-up speech on the 12th Malaysia Plan in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.
He might have regretted doing that as he received what he described as “hundreds” of complains today.
“I received hundreds of calls regarding road conditions like potholes and I did not have time to pick up the calls one by one. Instead I asked the callers to send me SMSs so I can take immediate action on their complains.
He has assured that complains will be attended to within 24 hours.
Yesterday, Shahidan shared his number (0194545111), his deputy Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias (0196524444) and Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Mahadi Che Ngah (0162068883). All complains can be directed to any three of them.
Shahidan said they were prepared.
“Those who are visiting KL and stumble upon hazardous potholes can call us and we will take action within 24 hours. We want to be the best for Malaysia.”
The poor state of roads in Kuala Lumpur was raised in Parliament by Batu MP P. Prabakaran.
