An appeal for donors by the National Blood Centre (PDN) has been issued as supplies has run low.
Early May, PDN successfully ran a blood drive at the BAC College grounds, where they praised the set up as an “easy way for people to donate blood”.
Unfortunately with the surge in Covid-19 cases, people have started to avoid public places, which is where PDN sets up its mobile units.

This Facebook post states that blood stocks are very low.
Th post also “begs” people to donate as stocks are very low and patient need blood. It also asks people to spread the message to others in order for more to come forth and donate.
The post indicated that type AB blood are at sufficient levels, but type A, B and O, are running low.
PDN urged eligible donors to visit the nearest blood donation centre, to donate immdiately while an appointment slip can be obtained from its website, to smoothen the process during the MCO.
