Among the standard operating procedures we often hear of during this MCO period is to maintain social distancing.
Since shopping malls reopened recently, maintaining a social distance has become a challenge, especially for the management which is responsible for the crowd and to ensure they follow SOPs.
Popular shopping mall in Selangor, Sunway Pyramid recently used social media to help spread this message, with a little help from characters from “Squid Game”.
“Squid Game” is among the latest releases from Netflix which is a Korean drama series.
Are you ready to play? Sunway Pyramid’s game is pretty simple. Just stay 1 metre apart from every other shopper and live…
It revolves around characters competing to survive and cheat death by playing certain twisted versions of the children’s game for money.
The characters include nameless, faceless soldiers in pink suits who help run the games.
Sunway Pyramid recently shared an image of these pink-suit soldiers from “Squid Game” at the entrances to the mall.
The mall in the Facebook page asked patrons if they were “ready to play” – their game was simple – to stay a metre apart from each other.
The mall’s lion mascot wearing the pink uniform holding a sign saying “Keep Physical Distancing” was also in the photo along with the soldiers.
The photoshopped post has since gained plenty of attention from shoppers and received numerous likes and comments.
Though it is highly unlikely shoppers would see the pink soldiers, the mall has introduced social distancing officers in to help with the crowd control and remind shoppers to follow the SOPs.
