In true Malaysian spirit, an air condition technician from Ipoh went out of his way to help a less-abled uncle in his fifties recently.
Isaac Chin received a call from the uncle who suffers multiple illnesses and who is also slightly paralysed and uses a walking stick.
The uncle lives with his sister and is dependent on his siblings for his daily survival.
Isaac said about three years ago, the uncle had called him for repair the air condition compressor and at that time he charged him only RM1.
However, this time, the condition was much worse and the remote was also not working.
The uncle said he was suffering from intense heat due to the broken air condition.
According to his post in Facebook, Issac said he and his assistant then replaced the broken remote and cleaned out the dirty air conditioner unit.
“When we completed the job, the uncle asked how much he owes us. I told the uncle RM1 would do.
“The uncle could not believe what he heard and shakily took out RM1 from his pocket,” wrote Isaac.
While at the house, Isaac also noticed that the roof was leaking badly with buckets placed all over the hall.
Just before leaving, he told the uncle that his friend, Kang will be coming over to fix the leaking roof.
Isaac assured the uncle who was worried about the cost that he would take care of everything.
“Don’t worry uncle. You have already paid me. This RM1 covers the cost of repairing the roof also,” said Isaac.
He left as the uncle became teary eyed and repeatedly thanked Isaac.
Hats off to Isaac for being a truly, caring Malaysian.
