Meet Janine Eggenberger, one of Europe’s best aerial acrobat whose dance school is inspiring people online to keep going!
Swiss Banker turned World-Class Aerialist, Janine Eggenberger discovered her passion for dance very early in life. Born and raised in Switzerland, the banker turned dancer began dancing ballet at the age of 6. As a young adult, Janine was always told that she would never be a good dancer. Taking that up as a challenge, she not only became a dancer with Cirque de Soleil and Swiss Dream Circus (Malaysia’s very own Circus) but was also the semi-finalist of Das Super Talent 2018 aka Germany Got Talent 2018!
Janine tells Good News Malaysia: “I have always followed my dreams. So, my first dream was to be a dancer even though my body shape was not best suited to be one. It was daunting in the beginning, so for the longest time I’ve kept it as a hobby. When I started working as a Banker, it was then I realized that I really wanted to dance and so I went to New York to pursue dance. Just when everyone thought I wont succeed, I never looked back and kept moving forward – elevating from dance to become an aerialist. This motivated me even more to keep moving forward.”

The performer, who describes herself as a lover of music, dance and theatre had this to say about inspiring others to dance – “Teaching to me is like food to the soul. When I impart my knowledge to someone else, it just makes me feel good!”.
Janine, who divides her time between performing and running a school of acrobatics, regards running her business founded on a passion for dance as “simple.”
