Malaysia’s prized flower, the Rafflesia tuan mudae plant, at the Gunung Gading National Park in Lundu, Sarawak, has started blooming on Nov 24.
According to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation, the blooming process for this plant will last for six days until Nov 29. Not to mention, the Rafflesia is the largest flower in the world.
“This time the flower is 67cm and there are five petals,” the corporation said in a statement.
The Gunung Gading National Park is located 200m from its headquarters. Nature lovers who are interested in seeing the flower, must first register with its management.
Visitors will be accompanied by a park guide who will walk them to the flower.
Nevertheless, the corporation added that it is important that all visitors must adhere to the standard operating procedure of the park at all times.
